The NSW SES Volunteers Association (Rockdale) is hosting charity fundraiser 'Comedy for a Cause' on October 26 at Canterbury Leagues Club.
This year's fundraiser is aimed at using donations to fund programs and provide welfare support for NSW State Emergency Service volunteers.
Thousands of dedicated NSW volunteers from across the state provide emergency assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are committed to ensuring the safety of the community.
The NSW SES Volunteers Association is a non-profit registered charity that was established in 1998 to represent and support the thousands of volunteer members of the NSW State Emergency Service.
Various fundraising activities are required to fund these support activities including raffles, donations, sponsorships, merchandise sales and advertising commission from the quarterly Magazine 'The Volunteer'.
Funds are also used to help members in communities affected by drought through the Drought Support Program, providing mental health awareness programs, welfare grants to members going through hardship, andscholarships.
The comedy event will include a live comedy show with headliner comedians, an MC, lucky door prizes at a licensed venue with cocktails and food included.
Tickets are $45 and can be booked online.
