BENDIGO young gun Alessia McCaig has claimed a second gold medal in two days at the Oceania Track Championships in New Zealand.
The 16-year-old, who is making her international and senior racing debut in Invercargill, sprinted to victory in the 500m time-trial on day two of the championships.
McCaig won gold in a time of 35.777, which bettered her previous personal best of 35.849, set in qualifying on Thursday.
The win continued an amazing championships for the Bendigo and District Cycling Club and Victorian Institute of Sport rider.
She won team sprint gold on day one of the championships with team-mate Kalinda Robinson, from New South Wales.
The pair set a new championship record time of 35.249.

McCaig has the chance to add to her medal tally on Friday and Saturday, when she contests the kierin and sprints.
The youngster entered the championships on a limited eight-week preparation, but has stamped herself as a rider to watch at next year's senior nationals.
An amazing year for the Girton Grammar student has included a four gold and one bronze medal haul at this year's Junior National Track Championships.
