The public have until November 4 to comment on Georges River Council's Draft Hurstville Place Strategy which seeks to transform the Hurstville CBD through economic, cultural and infrastructure improvement projects.
The Strategy outlines twelve priority projects for the Hurstville CBD area, including: planning for a healthy community, encouraging a bustling night-time economy, and creating a connected walkable centre with increased tree canopy.
Georges River Council mayor Kevin Greene said the strategy will be a catalyst for significant change in Hurstville, as Council drives the vision of Hurstville.
"Council has launched the Draft Hurstville Place Strategy at a pivotal point in Hurstville's evolution as a key strategic centre in Sydney," Councillor Greene said.
"Georges River Council is leveraging the City's existing strengths as a bustling commercial, retail and cultural centre with convenient access to the Sydney CBD and Sydney Airport.
"The construction of One Hurstville Plaza which is currently underway is a significant step forward in Council's goal of attracting investment and jobs to Hurstville.
"I strongly encourage local residents to share feedback on the Draft Strategy online at Your Say Georges River, to ensure the future Hurstville is a place that accommodates the professional and lifestyle needs of the community."
Director of Coombes Property Group Michael Coombes said construction of the new $60 million One Hurstville Plaza will help to support this goal of creating a vibrant local economy for the suburb's CBD.
"The Hurstville Place Strategy establishes a clear agenda and set of priorities to develop Hurstville as a key regional centre. Our project currently under construction, One Hurstville Plaza, demonstrates our confidence in Hurstville," Mr Coombes said.

Pascal Bobillier, General Manager - Development, Coombes Property Group, said One Hurstville Plaza will provide premium commercial office space comparable to other major employment centres in Sydney.
