Re the letter "Community space first" (Your, View, October 16).
I would like to suggest that the community space at South Village would be a great space for our local radio station 2SSR 99.7FM to have their studios located.
It would be great to have them located amongst the action and for the community to see first-hand what it takes to operate a radio station.
Also it would be great if their transmitter could be re-located to the top of the building above (now one of the highest points in the area) as this would provide great coverage of the Sutherland Shire.
Sadly, at the moment I can get better reception from other community radio stations located 30 kilometres away on the other side of Sydney than our local one, only 3km away.
We as a community need to put our best foot forward and use this space to provide for and showcase our shire, and I think that this would be a great opportunity to do so.
