My family lived in Chifley for over 30 years in the home my parents built, which is only a stone's throw from Yarra Bay Sailing Club. Playing, picnicking and swimming at the sailing club and nearby Congy Beach were regular activities we all enjoyed.
The proposal to build a cruise ship terminal at Yarra Bay is a government and lobby group suggestion to vandalise this environment for a polluting, congesting creating, floating block of units.
It's all about parking ships at Yarra instead of Balmain, where residents have been suffering from ship noise and air pollution.
Imagine a cruise ship standing 70 metres tall or more above the water line with over 5000 people on board in Yarra Bay. It will be an Annus Horribilis if this development goes ahead.
