As part of this year's Beachside Dash, one school has taken home the inaugural School Cup Challenge, which encouraged kids to run for reseach, while also giving them a chance to win a prize for their school.
St Patrick's Primary School Kogarah won $1000 and a trophy for their efforts.
The dash was held on September 8 and the family friendly event was organised by St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation to raise funds and awareness for medical research in St George and Sutherland hospitals.
The two kilometre dash was the last race for the day. More than 300 children from schools across the area along with their families took part, running alongside event ambassador and former St George Dragon Jason Nightingale, who crossed the finish line with his daughter.
