Dr Adrian Sjarif is a Sutherland boy who followed his dream to help people look and feel better about themselves.
The specialist plastic surgeon began his long career journey decades ago while growing up in the Shire and now assists patients through his clinics in Kogarah, Miranda and Wollongong.
"I am actually a local boy who grew up in Sylvania, went to primary school at the local public school and I still currently reside and work in the Shire," the doctor said. "I worked at the Video Ezy store in Miranda as a university job while studying science and medicine."
Fast forward almost 25 years and Dr Sjarif has built a reputation as a surgeon who abides by the highest standards of professional care. Described as approachable and compassionate, the doctor is a great listener and problem solver who has an eye for artistry and an ability to deliver natural, beautiful plastic surgery results.
Highly qualified, Dr Sjarif completed a medical degree in 2003, then a Master of Surgery, before training in plastic surgery for five years and being awarded the Fellowship of Plastic Surgeons.

Following rigorous Australian training, he secured a highly sought-after clinical fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York, (only the second Australian to do so) spending 12 months performing a high volume of reconstructive breast surgery including implants and microsurgical breast reconstruction.
As a specialist plastic surgeon, Dr Sjarif uses short scar techniques whenever possible to reduce visible scars, hiding them in natural skin creases and orientating them in such a way that they heal almost imperceptibly.
He also uses shorter incisions, a meticulous suturing technique and appropriate suture type and size to ensure that your scarring is kept to a minimum.
"I will also remove your sutures in a timely manner, as leaving sutures in for too long can lead to poor scarring," Dr Sjarif said.
"I can also suggest various options that you can use following your surgery to minimise scars." For details phone Dr Adrian Sjarif on 9588 5700.
