AJ&PM Sales began in 1989 as a family business selling lighting tubes out of the home garage in Jannali.
The company name comes from family members Aelene, Jim, Matthew and Phillip.
They opened their first branch in Kirrawee, before expanding to Bexley in 2001 and Fairy Meadow in 2011.
The family-owned electrical wholesaler supplies electrical and lighting products for tradesmen and the general public.
Director Matthew Trevenar said the company had grown considerably since its beginnings in Jannali, expanding past the Shire over the bridge and into Wollongong.
It has also expanded into the retail sector, opening a lighting showroom in Kirrawee, which focuses on lighting design and residential projects.
Mr Trevenar said his father had been in the industry for a long time when he decided to branch out and start his own wholesaler. "Almost the entire family has worked in the company at some point in time," he said.

"There was a lack of supply in the electrical industry for the ever growing Sutherland Shire and my parents jumped on the opportunity and opened AJ&PM Sales in their home town."
Mr Trevenar said the business still felt like a family.
"Our business has been successful because its has been managed by three generations of family, establishing strong relationships with customers and companies through the decades and generations," he said.
The business - which will celebrate 30 years in the region this year - is the only electrical wholesaler in the Sutherland Shire with a retail division.
The lighting showroom offers electrical products and stylish lighting solutions for the general public and tradesmen alike. "Our company prefers supplying LED products as we are constantly keeping up with technological innovations," Mr Trevenar said.
"We have a fleet of eight delivery trucks and utes servicing Sydney, the Shire and the South Coast. Our team is a mixture of youth and experience."
