Established in Lugarno in 1991, Greg Harris Constructions are testimony to the hard work, experience and skill that has been achieved over many years.
Greg Harris started in the trade in the St George and Sutherland areas originally an apprentice architectural joiner in 1980 at Bowles Joinery in Mortdale manufacturing specialised timber curved and arched doors.
Mr Harris said this was a way for him to achieve his goals of becoming a builder while learning the finer craft of the joinery trade.
"I completed my Building and Clerk of Works course in 1986 and was awarded the St George TAFE Medal twice in that time.
"This allowed me to get a builder's licence. I became a foreman for several large residential builders at age 23 and quickly learned how building companies operate," he said.
Greg started his own company in 1991 and while trying to find a name for his new venture and reaching out to family members for assistance, his father said it would be a good idea to name his building company after himself.
"People want to deal with you personally" were his exact words. So Greg Harris Constructions it was.
"We have been building high-quality, custom build homes since then and pride ourselves on delivering excellent workmanship and management throughout the building processing," he said.
"I have learnt the importance of working closely with the client to achieve their goals of a beautiful home.
"Going through material selection and finishes with the clients and explaining the impacts of the decisions they make.
"Bringing the project in on time and budget are critical elements of our building process."
Greg Harris Constructions is proud to have won numerous HIA and MBA awards throughout their time in the competitive building trade.

Working with Greg in the business for the past six years is his son Ryan who recently completed his building degree at UNSW and is carrying on the proud tradition of excellence in building alongside his dad and is an integral part of the company.
"He has the qualification now to pursue project management or commercial construction but he shares my passion for residential homes and is learning from the ground up - literally."
Mr Harris said he always wanted to be a builder.
"Growing up in Lugarno there were numerous new homes being built throughout the suburb. With my brother we would explore the building sites after school all the time."
"Dad was a solicitor who built several houses when I was growing up. Once I obtained my builder's licence, my father and I would do a few small villa and townhouse developments together."
