Ramsgate RSL wins ClubsNSW award for work with indigenous youth

Ramsgate RSL as won a ClubsNSW 2019 'Clubs and Community Awards' for their outstanding community contribution and community partnership with 'The Settlement Neighbourhood Centre'.

Ramsgate RSL won the 'Youth Leadership' category for their particular support of 'The Settlement Neighbourhood Centre's' Youth Leadership Program and Camp.

As part of this program members of the Ramsgate RSL team attended a cultural camp to Alice Springs and Uluru with fourteen young people between the age of 15-18, to help them explore their own identity and culture whilst connecting with their Indigenous culture through cultural exchange with some of the most traditional communities in Australia.

The ClubsNSWAwards recognised the outstanding social contributions made by clubs in their local area and throughout the state and there were over 80 registered clubs from across NSW named as finalists in the industry's prestigious awards.

"This is a huge milestone in Ramsgate RSL's history and one that we are extremely

proud of," Ramsgate RSL Club commercial manager, Nicole Heinrich said.

"We look forward to continuing this community partnership with The Settlement Neighbourhood and making a real difference in the lives of indigenous youth."
