Wollongong police are investigating a large street brawl involving 10 people and weapons in Helensburgh on Monday night.
Neighbours called police after they heard shouting and screams in Walker Street about 6pm.
One resident, who did not want to be named, saw up to 10 people armed with golf clubs, cricket bats and timber planks fighting in the street.
"It appeared to a be a dispute between two groups," the resident said.
"There were four people on one side and six on the other."
He said one of the groups drove off in a car while the other group continued to hit the car with the weapons.
Five police cars, and an ambulance crew attended to treat one male for minor injuries.
The resident said local traffic got up when driving along the street.
"One car accidentally got involved in the fight and had to reverse 100 metres up the road to get away," he said.
"Other drivers got out to help but quickly realised it was too dangerous."
Police have asked residents for CCTV of the brawl, which lasted about 15 minutes.
No arrests or charges have been made and police are continuing to investigate.
