A temporary sand wall built at Dolls Point as part of the Ramsgate Baths Beach Nourishment Project collapsed overnight.
Part of the wall collapsed due to yesterday's high tides and strong winds, a Bayside Council spokesperson said.
Contractors Neumann are moving 28,000 cubic metres of sand from the spit near Georges River 16ft Sailing Club at Dolls Point to restore at Ramsgate Baths in time for the start of summer.
"Council staff have inspected the site today and advise that a short section of a temporary sand bund wall that has been constructed by the Contractor undertaking the above Project to protect their site from tidal inundation collapsed due to the high tides and strong winds that hit this site yesterday," the council spokesperson said.
"This is a temporary sand mound that will be totally removed on completion of this Project which is scheduled for early December 2019.
"There is no danger to the Public as the area is fenced off and the Contractor is currently infilling this section of sand wall."
