Australia's women's Olympic water polo team invaded the St George district for a training session and friendly game earlier this month.
The Aussie Stingers used Bexley's Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre and it's 50-metre outdoor pool for training before taking on the NSW Institute of Sport's men's team in a game.
The national team were impressed with the facilities which offered an ideal environment for water polo and gave locals and water polo fans the opportunity to see Australia's senior representative team in their community pool.
The Stingers said they loved playing at Bexley, that it was great to bring water polo to the community allowing junior supporters to watch the game and that they hope to be back playing there soon.
