Re the article "Axing of on-demand buses leads to apology" (Leader, November 13).
We are writing in to ask please bring back Transdev on demand bus service. This isn't just a bus service it helps those in the community that have trouble getting out, that have a disability, that can't walk very far and are about 30 minutes away from Opal transport.
This on demand bus service is door to door. It will soon to be Summer, how are we going to go walking in the heat? How are we going to get to our shops?
This is more than a bus it's a service to help those in need of transport. Without it we may lose our volunteer work. Please consider to bring it back not just on trial but permanently. Please bring it back.

Transdev on demand trial was announced as ceasing on November 17, 2019.
This was a trial used to gain data to test other flexible and easy ways for customers to connect to other public transport.
Did you realise that Activus Transport is the Sutherland Shires only dedicated community transport organisation and has been providing efficient, effective, easily accessible and affordable transport for the frail aged, people with disabilities and transport disadvantaged residents of the Sutherland Shire for more than 40 years?
We are a not for profit, charitable organisation that receives funding from Transport for NSW to provide a truly door to door service.
Often it is difficult for services like ours to be seen and heard in the community.
It's important to let the senior residents of the Sutherland Shire know that there are other affordable options like Activus to help you 'get out and about' and live the life you choose to live.
Our dedicated staff and team of volunteers are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and it would be welcomed if the good work of community services like ours could become more visible to our community so those most in need are aware of the services available to them.
