Re the article "Short on details: Investor questions downsized plans" (Leader, November 13).
Some off the plan projects completely eliminate an apartment or delete balconies or even a bedroom. They just want to use your money to build then get rid of you when built so they can sell at market price.

Developers usually allow for a margin of difference in measurement. This seems excessive. It's imperative that you read the contract thoroughly and then take if to a solicitor to read to make sure your aware of all the details. Have a list of questions to ask your solicitor and record her responses. Use email as much as you can to ensure you have a documented record of what occurred.

JQZ are very greedy developers who need to be held accountable. It's disgusting to think that these developer can now return a refund without compensation. I hope the new building commissioner helps act on this atrocity

That's what happens when you purchase off the plan ... too much risk as they are only paper plans.

I'm one of the new owners. I think most of the ground floor units are involved - the courtyard size has been significantly cut by 20 sqm. Anyone else who's involved please contact me so we can fight for our rights.

I am one of the owners and it seems to be okay on my side. I haven't done the physical measurement but the final strata plan matches the draft strata plan as well as the sales brochure.

Why have the apartments been reduced in size? Because of overdevelopment. There is no care or concern for the local community.

The State Government needs to clean up the building industry. The bad apples are spoiling it for the honest ones.
