Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to get into the festive spirit than by attending one of the many Carols by Candlelight and concert events planned for Sutherland Shire.
Sutherland Shire Choral Society will hold its Christmas Concert Rejoice on Sunday, December 1, at 2pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 389 Port Hacking Road, Caringbah.
Conductor James Paul will lead the choir and instrumental ensemble through a program of beautiful Christmas music during the relaxing afternoon performance.

Endeavour Harmony Chorus Incorporated will hold a Christmas family and friends show on Tuesday, December 3, at 8pm at Jannali Uniting Church.
They will perform Christmas carols as well and new songs from their repertoire. Entry is by gold coin donation.
Lilli Pilli Public School invites the whole community to kick off the Christmas season on Friday, December 6, with its carols event, A Berry Starry Night.
The event will be held at Lilli Pilli Oval from 5.30pm and features performances by students as well as the uplifting soulful music of Harvey and The Beans and local talent Phoebe V.
Organisers suggest families bring a picnic dinner and there will also be treats for sale. A special guest from the North Pole is also expected to drop in. Gold coin donations are welcome.
A Carols by Candlelight concert will be held on Saturday, December 7, from 6.30pm at Woronora Memorial Park, 121 Linden Street, Sutherland.
The Christmas Crackers band will lead the magical evening of carolling. There will also be a sausage sizzle, face-painting, colouring-in and a visit by Santa.
Candles and song booklets will be available. Donations will be collected for Anglicare's Toys 'n' Tucker Christmas appeal.
Christmas Brass on the Grass will be held at Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla, on Sunday, December 8, from 6pm.
Bring a picnic rug and join Southern Brass and friends for the free annual event featuring your favourite Christmas carols. There will be a children's sing-a-long, a visit from Santa and his elves from 6.30pm and a barbecue sausage sizzle.
Carols on the Lawn will be held at St Pope Kyrillos VI & St Habib Girgis Church, 119 Barton St, Monterey, on Saturday, December 14.
Get into the community's Christmas spirit at the annual event, which features artists from the Coptic and local community.
Bring your picnic rugs, candles, glow-sticks and voices to the free event, which starts at 4pm before the carols get under way at 7.30pm.
