A Sylvania Waters tap dancer has taken out top honours at a recent youth dance festival.
Kai Taylor, of Sylvania Waters, was named outstanding male dancer at the Sharp Short Dance festival held at Riverside Theatres Parramatta on Saturday, November 16.
Kai, who taught himself how to tap by watching YouTube videos, performed a piece entitled 'Resilience'.
Kai, now 13, has competed in tap dancing competitions across Australia and overseas and is both a national and world junior champion.
The annual Sharp Short Dance festival gives young dancers and choreographers the opportunity to perform in front of leading industry professionals. This year's festival included 46 performances across a number of genres. A total of 139 dancers and 60 choreographers took part before 17 finalists were chosen.
