RE the article "Cronulla cinema to close: Final curtain for movie palace" (Leader, November 20).
I'm so devastated to hear about the closing of Cronulla cinema.
I have so many memories of taking my father there and I don't want it to close. This building is heritage and so are all the memories I have going there.

As Cronulla Cinema will be closing next February, the obvious venue for movies in the shire will be at Miranda.
However, if Sutherland Council could make available the venue in their building in Engadine (partly used by Essential Community Solutions) there is a large room in this building with retractable seating and a movie screen.
I remember seeing a preview there of the movie Avatar some years ago, and feel this would allow an alternate choice for many people.

Wouldn't it be good if Event Cinemas screened different movies at Cronulla to the ones screening at Miranda.
Imagine if we had our own Dendy type cinema instead of having to head to Newtown, Randwick, Paddington or Opera Quays!
