The opening times of several Australia Post outlets in Sutherland Shire and St George have been extended in time for the Christmas rush.
In the shire, post offices at Menai, Cronulla, Bangor, Sutherland, Caringbah and Engadine will open for longer until December 22.
In St George, the Hurstville outlets haS extended their hours.
An Australia Post spokeswoman said extended trading hours will give customers more choice and convenience.
"We know Christmas is a really busy time of the year so we are giving our customers greater flexibility to come in and send all their presents, or pick them up, when it best suits them," she said.
With the online shopping boom continuing, Australia Post is delivering record volumes and is expecting to exceed last year's number of parcels delivered which was close to 40 million.
Along with extended trading hours, Australia Post customers also have the option of collecting their Christmas gifts at one of 330 free 24/7 parcel lockers across the country.

SUTHERLAND SHIRE
- Menai: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 2pm Saturday
- Bangor: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9:30am - 12pm Saturday.
- Cronulla: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 12.30pm Saturday.
- Engadine: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 12.30pm Saturday.
- Sutherland: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 12.30pm Saturday; and extended parcel hatch access 7.30am - 9am Monday to Friday.
- Caringbah: 9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9.30am - 1pm Saturday; and extended parcel hatch access 6am - 9am Monday to Friday.
ST GEORGE
- Hurstville: 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 12.30pm Saturday; and extended parcel hatch access 7am - 9am Monday to Friday.
