KU Sutherland Preschool recently unveiled a new playground and it has received the thumbs up from students.
The preschool's new outdoor area features grass, soft-fall areas, a swing set and a mud kitchen designed to enhance children's play, discovery and learning.
"The children have really enjoyed spending time outside in our new playground," said KU Sutherland director Collette Heslehurst.
"The upgrade has made the outdoor area a much more inviting and engaging space where the children have more choice in the types of activities they'd like to take part in."
The preschool invited children, families and staff to celebrate the official opening of the new space recently at a morning tea.
Matthew Doyle performed a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony and the preschool used the occasion to launch its own reconciliation action plan.
KU Sutherland provides early childhood education for children aged three to five.
