Small craft such as kayaks can launch off the Tonkin Street, Cronulla, boat ramp following the completion of a $1.9 million upgrade.
Cronulla MP Mark Speakman and Sutherland Shire mayor Carmelo Pesce said the facility provided boaters with safer and easier access to Port Hacking.
The boat ramp has been widened and the slope improved, but remains single trailer width.
A new pontoon for launching small craft in Gunnamatta Bay has been added.
The cost of the project escalated from the originally announced $1.57 million to $1.9 million.
Sutherland Shire Council and the NSW Government each contributed $950,000.
The state government contribution was made up of $650,000 under its Boating Now program and $300,000 from the Rescuing Our Waterways program for dredging.
