Several cars belonging to Sutherland Shire Council staff have been damaged in a graffiti attack.
Police are appealing for information about the malicious damage incident, which occurred on Monday, December 2 between 1pm and 1.45pm.
The privately owned vehicles were in the council car park in Flora Street, Sutherland, where there is a section reserved for the council.
A police spokesman said "a serious amount of damage" was caused.
"Police wish to speak with any person who may have been in or around the vicinity of the car park and may have seen any person or persons acting suspiciously in and around, vehicles parked," the spokesman said.
Mayor Carmelo Pesce said about six cars were tagged.
"They were taken to the council depot today and the graffiti was removed," he said.
"They are the private vehicles of council staff,' he said. "None belonged to councillors".
"We are hoping CCTV footage will help identify those responsible."
