The annual general meeting of the St George Business Chamber has re-elected Allan Zreik as president for another term.
Tony Baddour has been returned as vice-president, Carlos Zeidan as secretary and Tak Li as treasurer.
The re-election of the St George Business Chamber's executive committee comes at the start of a busy year for the chamber.
Last September, the chamber launched its Buy Local campaign to encourage business and consumers to support locally-owned businesses.
St George Business Chamber president Allan Zreik announced the Buy Local campaign at three business forums held recently by the Chamber in Kogarah, Hurstville and Mortdale and attended by numerous local business owners.
The Buy Local campaign will be promoted by the chamber over the next 12 months.
And last month the Chamber released its Strategic Plan for the Buy Local, Stay Local campaign for the next 12 months which aims to help local businesses to promote their products and services and encourage local residents to support businesses in their community by shopping locally.
The Buy Local, Stay Local Action Plan has four strategies: getting businesses onboard and increasing chamber membership; partnering with stakeholders; setting up a Buy Local business directory; surveying residents to see what they have spent as a result of the Buy Local campaign, how much they have spent and on what.
The campaign will be supported by marketing material including Buy Local shopfront posters and window stickers, bumper stickers and badges.
