Caringbah High School students have raised $3000 for an outing and supplies for two primary schools which burnt down during the NSW bushfires.
Deputy principal Greg Lucas said students wanted to help rebuild the schools and provide "some sense of normality" for students on the fire-ravaged NSW north coast.
Mr Lucas said one of the schools that the students wanted to help was Wytaliba Public School, which is located in an extremely rural area north west of Coffs Harbour and has around a dozen enrolled students.
He said students looked forward to an end of year excursion to the beach at Coffs Harbour each year but their boogie boards and snorkel sets were lost when fire almost completely destroyed the school.
"After getting in touch with the school, the students at Caringbah were hoping to be able to make enough money to send the students to the beach at some point, particularly as they have faced such difficult circumstances, with many of them losing their homes as well," Mr Lucas said, adding the remaining money will be used for new stationery, books and teaching resources.
Students also raised money for Bobin Public School south west of Port Macquarie. The 18-student school was almost completely destroyed by bushfire and students hope to buy some school supplies and sports equipment.
One of the organisers of the fundraiser, Aurelia Fox, said the students' hearts went out to everyone in school communities affected by bushfires.
"We cannot imagine what it would feel like to have your home, school, community and essentially entire life ripped away with no warning," she said.
The school's SRC co-ordinator and head teacher - social science Dawn Northey said she was proud of the students.
"The amount of work they've put into this fundraiser is outstanding," she said.
School principal Alan Maclean said student leaders including members of the SRC and INTERACT (School Rotary) mobilised in a matter of days to plan and carry out fundraising.
Mr Lucas said they hope to raise even more money when the 2020 school year begins.
