The St George and Sutherland Shire communities are continuing to throw their support behind Australia's bushfire-ravaged communities, with numerous fundraising events planned for coming days.
Marton Public School at Engadine will host a Bushfire/Drought Appeal this Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
The event has been organised by the school's P&C to raise much-needed money for bushfire victims as well as school supplies for students in drought-affected areas.
The P&C is asking for donations of back-to-school packs for country students.
"We are currently in contact with Tamworth and Dubbo office of the Department of Education," said organiser, P&C vice-president Kristen Edwards.
"We are making 'back to school packs' that contain school bags, pencil cases, lunch boxes, stationery, school socks, books etc
"We are happy to take whole packs or individual items to add to some packs."
Ms Edwards said they hoped to make up at least 30 school packs, which she planned to drive to country schools before the term starts.
"Our aim is to make going back to school a little bit easier on some of our fellow Australians," she said.
A sausage sizzle sponsored by KORE Property group and Club Heathcote will raise funds for the Red Cross and WIRES bushfire appeals.

Sydney Musicool Orchestra will hold a sold-out charity concert at Golden Sands Restaurant, Hurstville, on Sunday night, with all proceeds going to the NSW Rural Fire Service.
More than 250 people, including Kogarah MP Chris Minns, will attend the Bushfire Appeal Concert and Dinner, which is expected to raise more than $10,000.
Orchestra member Jordon Zhong said about 40 high school and primary school students are part of the orchestra, which has performed in the past for dignitaries, including Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
Children are also getting behind the cause.
Frankie Dallas told the Leader her nine-year-old daughter Mackenzie Bradstock had raised almost $2000 to help groups caring for injured wildlife by selling handmade items via the Facebook page Everything Sutherland Shire.
"She has spent the past week making little animal pots to sell and the response has been out of this world," Ms Dallas said.
"She is heading towards $2000 and orders are still coming in [so] she can hardly keep up.
"I am so proud of her."
Mackenzie, of Heathcote, plans to help organisations caring for injured wildlife, such as WIRES and Wildlife Rescue South Coast Inc, and is planning to visit a dingo sanctuary in Bargo NSW.
