It hasn't been the greatest of weeks for Cronulla surfers, with the small east swell just delivering enough to keep your hair wet and hopeful for things to come.
If you thought yesterday was unsurfable you should think again as today's conditions and this weeks forecast are nothing to write home about.
As Swellnet said " There's nothing special expected in the surf department this week" ,and in fact yesterday morning there wasn't a surfer on the whole Cronulla strip-just a few nippers and learn to surfers!
In fact today it has picked up a little to 2-3 ft if your lucky with the strong southerly that blew through last night.
The conditions are appalling but there is a chance there will be a slight kick tomorrow as the swell moves around to the nor-east peaking on Saturday at 3-4ft. The winds will also be predominately onshore so if you see a small window-take it.
If you haven't been to check out the Southern Swell exhibition at Hazelhurst Gallery you should take the time because it finishes up this Sunday-come up at 12 for a BBQ and a beer and meet some of the artists-including the legendary Jim Davidson.
There is always hope for next week so stay tuned, check the banks which are very tide dependent and be ready when it comes.
