Elouera SLSC swimmer Harry Came will attempt this weekend to be the first swimmer to win the Cronulla Shark Island swim challenge double (1km and 2km events), two years in a row.
Harry is member of the NSW Open Water High-Performance squad and raced for NSW recently at the QLD Open Water Championships where he placed 1st in the 7.5km, 2nd in the 5km and 3rd in the 10km (18 years).
Harry also recently completed his HSC and gained entry into Notre Dame University to commence a Bachelor of Primary Education.
Currently the Australian Surf Life Saving U/19 Surf race champion, Harry has been working hard under the guidance of coach Daniel Neilson in his preparation for the Australian Open Water Championships, where he will be competing in both the 10km and 5km events.
The Cronulla Shark Island Swim was first run in 1988 and was won by Cronulla SLSC World Champion medalist David O'Brien.
Bronwyn Burns was the first female home in 1989.
