The Georges River community has a chance to add a creative touch to the local area, with Georges River Council calling for feedback regarding its Draft Public Art Policy (the draft Policy).
The draft Policy is on public exhibition at Your Say Georges River until 16 February 2020 and seeks to enrich the Georges River area with a diverse mix of high-quality art projects.
Council is seeking to integrate public art locally in a way that expresses the community's unique attributes, culture, heritage and people, and adds vibrancy to the area.
The draft Policy provides a framework for the acquisition, assessment, development and management of public art in the Georges River area and supports four key principles to guide the development of public art locally:
- Reflect and empower our local community,
- Enhance the liveability and distinctiveness of the local government area,
- Create key partnerships and collaborations to produce high quality public art,
- Support artists and recognise the depth and breadth of contemporary public art practice.
Community members are encouraged to share feedback online at Your Say
