Rural Fire Service volunteers in Sutherland Shire will receive new safety equipment with funds raised at the Cronulla concert by the council's charity partner, Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation.
The Jannali-based not for profit organisation has committed to spending all proceeds on purchasing updated breathing apparatus for shire volunteers, who have been battling catastrophic blazes across the state.
"There are RFS volunteers in Aboriginal communities and we also have friends and family members who are volunteers," said Deanna Schreiber, chair of the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation.
"They put their lives on the line when they go to fight fires and our aim is to help ensure they have the best equipment available.
"I know some of the volunteers don't have the latest equipment.
"On the day, our volunteers and some of the councillors will be taking around buckets.
"The buckets will have three names on the outside - the council, RFS and Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation.
"We hope people will be generous."
Ms Schreiber said the council would oversee the collection and distribution of the funds.
Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation strives to develop closer ties between Aboriginal and non Aboriginal groups, promote Aboriginal Culture and develop and assist in reconciliation.
