A man will face court today charged over allegedly impersonating a police officer and robbing a man while armed at Beverly Hills.
About 1.45am on 30 January 2019, police will allege a 39-year-old man arrived at Penshurst Street, Beverly Hills, after arranging to meet with a woman he met on a dating website.
After he arrived, a man and woman approached him and allegedly pretended to be police officers.
It will be alleged the man held an electronic stun device to the 39-year-old man's face before stealing his wallet, phone, and car keys. The pair then stole his BMW sedan and drove away.
Officers from St George established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Gobondry.
On Wednesday 5 February 2020, detectives arrested and charged a 24-year-old woman with impersonate police officer and exercise powers/functions, in company rob while armed with dangerous weapon, dishonestly obtain property by deception, and possess identity info to commit etc indictable offence.
She was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 6 February 2020. The woman is next due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 8 April.
Following further inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at a facility in Silverwater about 11.30am yesterday (Wednesday 4 March).
He was charged with impersonate police officer and exercise powers/functions, in company rob while armed with dangerous weapon, dishonestly obtain property by deception, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
The man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today (Thursday 5 March).
