Georges River Council will hold a Harmony Day Festival, an event for everyone who calls Australia home, on Saturday, March 21 at Hogben Park in Kogarah.
Mayor Kevin Greene said Harmony Day celebrations are growing every year.
"This is a true community event, intended to unite people from all cultures, and reinforcing the importance of inclusiveness and respect to all Australians in the Georges River area," Councillor Greene said.
"This year, the Harmony Day Festival will unite more than 30 multicultural community groups and community organisations, and attract hundreds of people from wider communities.
"This event allows us as a community to experience different cultural traditions and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our city," Cr Greene said.
The event will include range of performances and activities, from Aboriginal and multicultural traditional and contemporary performances, music, food, children's activities, origami, calligraphy information stalls, and many more.
Harmony Day Festival is supported by many organisations including Bayside Council, MTC Australia, Advance Diversity Services, St George Police Area Command, TAFE NSW, SGCH and Services Australia.
