Bayside Council has cancelled a number of events in response to the coronavirus emergency but is going ahead with its popular Sculpltures@Bayside next month.
The annual Sculptures@Bayside exhibition is held at Cook Park, Kyeemagh every April and attracts works by sculptors from across Australia, all competing for more than $60,000 in prize money.
But, except for the CameraART exhibtion, the rest of the Bayside Arts Festival program has been cancelled.
"Council is rapidly responding to the changes required to deal with the coronavirus (COVID-19). Our priority is the safety of our community and staff " Bayside mayor Joe Awada said..
Essential Council services are continuing. Some events and activities have been cancelled.
Council Meetings
In the current environment Council continues to review its operations in light of Commonwealth and NSW State Government announcements.
While at this stage it is anticipated that Council Meetings will continue, the arrangements for those public meetings will no doubt change. Check Council's website for the latest updates.
Bayside Local Planning Panel Meetings
The Bayside Local Planning Panel meeting scheduled for Tuesday 24 March 2020 has been cancelled
Library services
Council libraries are open as normal.
All library events, programs and activities are cancelled until further notice. This includes Baby Rhymetime, Toddlertime and Story Time sessions, talks, school holiday activities and onsite learning programs.
Aquatic Centres
The Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre and the Botany Aquatic Centre are operating as normal.
Waste services
Waste collection services continue as normal.
