Two St George Cycling Club and NSW Institute of Sport athletes have been selected onto the Australian Track Cycling Team and hopefully bound for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Ashlee Ankudinoff and Kaarle McCulloch, are both long term members of the historic St George club that recently celebrated its centenary, and were officially announced onto the team by the Australian Olympic Committee on Thursday afternoon.
The COVID-19 pandemic might have the final say, but the Olympic Games, the biggest sporting spectacle of all, at this time is still set to go ahead.
If the Olympics will be held in Tokyo this northern summer Menai's Ankudinoff will go back-to-back after making her Olympic debut in Rio, while McCulloch returns after a long eight-year wait.
Both athletes, who now train at Cycling Australia's National Training Centre in Adelaide, have been NSWIS agreement holders for over 11 years and boast an incredible four world championship titles each.
McCulloch spoke of her excitement to be back in the Australian Olympic Team.
"I'm proud, humbled, excited, every emotion that you can basically feel to be able to say that I'm going to Tokyo", McCulloch said.
A bronze medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games, McCulloch said she couldn't wait for her long-awaited to return to the pinnacle of her sport.
Ankudinoff is set to race in the team pursuit event while McCulloch will compete in the team sprint.
