A staff member at a store at Menai Marketplace has tested positive for coronavirus.
Menai Marketplace owner Lendlease distributed a letter to all businesses on March 24 to notify them about the positive test, which they were told about the previous day.
"We were notified late yesterday that a staff member of a store within Menai Marketplace tested positive for COVID-19," the letter said.
"The staff member was working from 8.45am to 3.15pm on Thursday, March 19, however the affected team member's treating doctor has advised that they were not contagious during this time."
The letter said management had taken a number of steps "as a precaution".
Menai Marketplace also provided an update to its customers via its Facebook page on March 24, in which it said the staff member worked at Bed Bath N' Table.
A Lendlease spokesman told the Leader safety was their "number one priority".
"We're working in accordance with Australian Government Health Department COVID-19 cleaning and disinfection guidelines," he said.
"The store in which the staff member worked has undergone a deep clean and has reopened.
"Additionally, a deep clean of all common areas at Menai Marketplace has taken place and all staff who were in contact with the affected team member have been ordered to self-isolate at home for 14 days.
"These actions are in addition to the already significantly increased frequency of our cleaning procedures, along with the use of hospital grade disinfectant and hand sanitiser stations we've installed around the centre."
