Thirty-five cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Sutherland Shire.
The shire has the seventh highest number of cases in the state, new Health NSW figures reveal.
Bayside council area has 16 confirmed cases, with 10 in the Georges River council area.
Sutherland Shire has one of the largest populations - more than 218,000 residents - among council areas in the state.
The shire figures may include some of the cases that resulted from a wedding at Stanwell Tops. That area is covered by Wollongong City Council, but some of the guests could have been shire residents. Figures are based on where a person lives.
Waverley council area, which includes Bondi, is the biggest hot spot with 105 cases, followed by Sydney City (69), Northern Beaches (68), Woolahra (66), Central Coast (44) and Canterbury Bankstown (41).
