If there was ever a time to support your local sports clubs colours, it's now.
The well known black white and sky blue colours of the Cronulla Sutherland district originated from the Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club which was formed in 1907 and it has a long and rich history in local competition.
The Cronulla Triathlon, Baseball, Netball, Cronulla Boardriding club, Sutherland Basketball Assoc and of course the Sharks NRL colours are blue, black and white.
It took a Manly local, Steve Harrow, to bring out a beer in the colour of our area.
Harrow, who played football as a kid, had been in the surf club since nippers and has surfed all his life also runs the Surftag Australian Series for Australian Boardriding Clubs since 2001.
Harrow said he had been having a beer with Cronulla's 'BottleO'Brien's owner Paul O'Brien and mentioned he was going to start up a Beer Company, so they started sampling and discussing different beer styles and flavours.
"Paul suggested I head up the highway to Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley, which lead to a few research and development sessions in their Brewery- Six months later the first cartons of 40/20 Pale Ale were delivered to Paul's shop."
The 40/20 Pale Ale is an easy-drinking beer that's best described as a seasonable craft beer that's not too fruity or hoppy with a crisp after taste.
"The beer can design has a sporting theme and the name 40/20 came about as I'm in my 40's and every time I have a beer with my mates they tell funny stories from back in their 20's," he said
