Georges River pubs and clubs are among the top in the state for gaming machine net profit according to figures released by Liquor and Gaming NSW.
Overall, hotels in the Georges River Local Government Area achieved a net profit of $23,153,287, paying tax of $8,864,506 for the period October 1 to December 31, 2019.
This figure was produced by 426 machines in 15 premises.
Hotels in the Bayside LGA had a net profit of $21,979,956 from 428 machines in 17 premises, paying tax of $8,370,390 during the same period.
And hotels in the Sutherland Shire LGA had a net profit of $10,40,105 from 357 machines in 15 venues, paying tax of $3,410,055.
Seven hotels in the Georges River area were in the state's top 100 for gaming machine net profit from October 1 to December 31, 2019.
Hurstville's Meridian Hotel was number six in NSW, Kingsgrove Hotel 23, the Golden Tiger Bar Hurstville 35, Hurstville Ritz 70, Beverly Hills 92, Bexley North Hotel 93 and Banksia Hotel 99.
All venues had 30 gaming machines each.
Local club also saw big earnings.
Clubs in the Georges River LGA had a net profit of $29,180,754 for the period September 1 to November 30, 2019, paying tax of $6,113,209 from 1,631 machines in 15 premises.
Clubs in the Bayside LGA had a net profit of $15,677,594, from 1,077 machines in 19 premises, paying tax of $2,950,344
Clubs in the Sutherland Shire LGA had a net profit of $20,797,473 from 1,790 machines in 24 premises, paying tax of $3,779,541.
Four clubs in the Georges River LGA and one in the Sutherland Shire LGA were ranked in the state's top 100 for gaming machine profit.
Of these, Club Central Hurstville was ranked 23, St George Leagues Club 31, Sutherland District Trade Union Club (Gymea Tradies) 32,Club Rivers 41,and Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club 56.
The top club in the NSW for gaming machine net profit was Mount Pritchard Community Club (Mounties).
