A total of 16 community groups in the Oatley electorate will share $300,000 in the 2019 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program..
Oatley MP Mark Coure congratulated the 16 groups whose applications were successful for projects that will create a more vibrant and inclusive local community.
"These 16 projects will transform our local area, providing new spaces for community gatherings, improving our environmental footprint and making our infrastructure more accessible," Mr Coure said.
"There are many great projects that are being funded through this round of the CBP including community kitchen upgrades, disability access implementation and a virtual reality inclusion project."
"I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their applications and look forward to seeing how these projects are making a difference in our local community."
The full list of successful projects are:
$40,000 for Learning Links to complete an office refurbishment
$35,000 for Oatley West Public School's Nature Play Space
$32,000 to IRT Peakhurst to upgrade their swimming pool change rooms
$25,000 to 3Bridges, Penshurst for their Virtual Community Inclusion Centre project
$23,500 for St Joseph's Catholic Church, Riverwood to upgrade their disabled toilets
$20,000 for CASS Peakhurst to refurbish their day program centre
$19,500 to Penshurst West Public School to install drinking fountains and water bottle refill stations
$18,000 for Renown United Sports Club's facilities enhancements
$15,500 to upgrade St George Netball Association's storage shed
$15,200 to St Mark's Anglican Church, South Hurstville to upgrade their community kitchen
$15,000 for Oatley West Scouts to upgrade their kitchen facilities
$12,000 to St Declan's Catholic Church, Penshurst to purchase a community coffee cart
$10,000 for play equipment shade sails at Peakhurst West Public School
$9,000 to Aspect South East Sydney School, Peakhurst Heights to upgrade their meeting room
$6,500 for Georges River Life Care, Peakhurst to install a new air conditioning system
$3,800 for Oatley RSL Youth Club's office fit out
Now in its tenth year, the CBP program has funded more than 13,800 community projects
since it commenced in 2009.
Applications for the 2020 round of the CBP will open in May.
