Real estate agents are keen to get back in front of customers this weekend after the NSW government announced it would allow open homes and on-site auctions once again.
The real estate industry welcomed the news yesterday after the state government implemented a ban on public open homes and on-site auctions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 150 homes are scheduled for auction in NSW on Saturday.
As of Thursday, more than 70 per cent of Sydney auctions advertised on Domain had switched from virtual to on-site auctions.
Highland Property Group CEO David Highland said since the restrictions were put in place on 25 March, agents found new and innovative ways of providing solutions for their clients.
"We found new ways of doing business, but we are certainly glad traditional methods of inspecting, buying and renting a property will resume," he said.
"Of course, safety guidelines will be enforced to ensure public safety.
"The local market is resilient and has a fair amount of depth in terms of wealth. With an incredibly low-interest-rate environment and low stock levels, this provides a unique opportunity to consider your property options."
McGrath Sutherland Shire real estate agent Melissa Hatheier said she would always look out for the health and welfare of her customers.
"We will make sure we have plenty of hand sanitiser available for our clients and their well-being is of paramount importance to me," she said.
"The measures we are taking, such as extending open house times from 30 minutes to one hour will allow us to monitor social distancing safely but still allow people plenty of time to inspect a property."
