Work is due to resume this weekend on installing a new pedestrian bridge over Princes Highway at Kirrawee.
The project was to have been completed by the end of 2019.
However, along with a major upgrade of the highway, the bridge was delayed by a ban on work involving live power lines following the death of an Ausgrid worker on the lower north shore in April 2019.
Ausgrid imposed "a pause" on work involving live power lines, which was lifted in December 2019 following a safety review.
Transport for NSW says both the road upgrade and new pedestrian bridge are due to be completed by the end of this year.
The new bridge, including lifts and stairs, will be near Bath Road, next to The Prince hotel.
Miranda MP and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport said, after being postponed in December 2019 to relocate electricity cables, work on the bridge would restart this weekend.
Ms Petinos said cabling work would be carried out between Kingsway and Oak Road from 6am to 6pm on Saturday, May 16, weather permitting.
Temporary lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
