In the first of several virtual surfing events Surfing NSW has crowned their champions of the Ocean and Earth NSW Junior Web Surfing Titles with winners scored across four different age divisions with locals Kash Brown and Evie Fisher standing on the virtual dias.
The Ocean and Earth NSW Junior Web Surfing Titles which were powered by Live Heats was an online surf event targeting all surfers in NSW who had existing surfing clips at a beach in NSW from 2020.
Byron Bays Leihani Zoric took the 12 Girls crown with local Sandshoes Boardriders wonder kid Evie Fisher picking up third place.
The 14 boys was very tight with hardly a hair flick between runner up Cronulla's Kash Brown who pushed Fletcher Kelleher from Manly all the way to the NSW title-Kash Brown also won the first Cronulla Boardriders Cadet web surfing junior title this week.
The Cronulla Boardriders club ran their scheduled April monthly point score as a virtual contest, with keen surfers sending a video into the clubs new website.
The division winners were, Opens - Andrew King, O45 - Adam Brown and Bevan Gosby, Women - April Davey, Juniors - Oscar Cafe, Cadet - Kash Brown, Girls Cadet - Grace Gosby and Micro Grom's - Ryder Moss.
Due to the success of the NSW Junior Web Titles, Surfing NSW has expanded the initiative with other disciplines including longboard, SUP surfing and bodyboard.
None of these events serves as a feeder to the Australian Titles. You still have to do it the hard way and battle it out, man-on-man.
