G'day readers,
This week some restrictions were lifted and life as we used to know it before COVID-19 came back to us in a small way.
This caused excitement amongst many of our readers and Jim Gainsford covered the mood beautifully in this yarn.
In my household, the Premier's 8am morning press conference has become required viewing. This week she implored New South Wales residents to get tested for COVID-19 "even if you have a runny nose."
The result of that plea was that every man and his dog went to get tested. Murray Trembath wrote about it here, check out the great photo from our lensman John Veage.
Merryn Porter covered the other angle of the above yarn with her article on a resident who was turned away twice from the testing centre because it was too busy. Read about that here.
We all love green space. We can go for a walk, a ride, have a family get together. Murray told us the other side of that tale this week when he spoke with a group of Kingsgrove homeowners. They are devastated by a council move to rezone their properties so they can be acquired to expand a public reserve. Please read about it here.
While on council matters, Jim reports that Georges River councillors have called for a ban on developers and real estate agents from serving on council to be expanded to include investors. Sounds fair. What do you think? Please read about it here.
Thanks to those readers who have written to me, some just to say hi, I appreciate it. I do enjoy having direct contact with our readers.
Most say they enjoy the David Pope cartoons, so here are two more.
Thanks for reading the Leader I hope you enjoy your Sunday read.
