A bar catering for up to 120 patrons will open at the base of the revamped Cronulla Cinema if plans are approved.
Papa J's cocktail bar will fill the space previously occupied by Buddha Beach Thai restaurant, which closed in December 2018.
Hoyts has taken over the cinema from Event Cinemas and is spending nearly $6 million on a major refurbishment, which was scheduled to open in July.
The opening date will obviously depend on when coronavirus restrictions on cinemas are eased.
A development application (DA) for the new bar, costing $385,000, has been lodged with Sutherland Shire Council.
The DA said a small bar licence would be sought from Liquor and Gaming NSW.
Proposed trading hours are from midday to midnight, seven days a week.
