Pharmacies have been on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic, whether dispensing medication, giving flu shots, offering advice, helping the vulnerable in the community get access to essential supplies or have their medicines home-delivered.
Now, with social distancing measures and restrictions beginning to ease, Priceline pharmacies say it is more important than ever that the most vulnerable members of the community continue to stay safe.
Priceline says it has introduced several measures to look after the needs of those at higher risk of complications from coronavirus infection, including the estimated 49,500 elderly residents of Sutherland Shire.
Some local Priceline pharmacies are offering home delivery services so medicines can be dropped straight to your door, as well dose administration aids to help organise times and dosages, and a Priceline pharmacy app that allows you to manage your family's medications and set reminders.
Priceline Pharmacy Gymea pharmacist Dany Daher said while his pharmacy had always offered a delivery service, demand had increased in recent months.
"We've always delivered medicines to the community and the demand has significantly increased over the past few months," he said.
"We've been working overtime to ensure everyone gets their medication, even if this means delivering medicines out of hours."
Mr Daher said he had recently organised deliveries to President Private Hospital and IRT Thomas Holt nursing home at 1.30 am.
"It's important that we look after our elderly relatives and friends, and at Priceline Pharmacy Gymea we've been working hard to make sure our community is kept safe," he said.
"Myself and my team at Priceline Pharmacy Gymea are always here to help, and those who are vulnerable in the community mustn't be put at risk."
