The Sutherland Shire property market bounced back on Saturday following the return of open house inspections and auctions earlier in the month.
Of the 10 auction results in the shire reported by Domain on Saturday night, nine were sales, including two prior to auction.
Not all areas fared as well. Across Sydney, the clearance rate was 62 per cent, compared with 67 per cent last year.
About 60 people, including nine registered bidders, were at the on-site auction of a three bedroom house at 134 Cawarra Road, Caringbah.
The crowd spread out in the front yard and outside the fence, with the auctioneer giving a reminder of the need for social distancing.
The property sold for $1.13 million, $130,000 above the reserve, to a buyer in Western Australia, who was represented by an agent, who always looked likely to succeed.
The vendor Adam Cawley, a carpenter who had extensively renovated the house, said he was "more than happy" with the result.
