While many clubs and pubs are accommodating as many patrons as possible under the relaxed coronavirus restrictions, one shire venue has acted differently.
Royal Motor Yacht Club Port Hacking is limiting numbers to 50 in its large upstairs dining room, which has beautiful water views.
Bookings are being taken for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The state government has given approval for venues to cater for 50 people in each separated area, up to a maximum of 500.
RMYC Port Hacking general manager Liam Rogers said the authorities had indicated large dining rooms could be separated by "putting a row of pot plants or a rope barrier down the middle".
"For us to cram as many people in wouldn't sit well with what our members have told us they want, and it's also not what we believe is the right thing to do," he said.
"I think we need to remember why we had to close in the first place.
"We surveyed our members and they told us they wanted to come back.
"We also asked them what were their biggest concerns about returning.
"They said hygiene practices and they wanted to make sure people would be practicing social distancing.
"We have listened to them on both counts and are cautiously optimistic about reopening.
"We are looking at a second stage some time in the future of opening the downstairs area for another 50 people.
"However, the areas would be segregated and people would not be able to move between them."
