A second man man has been charged following an investigation into a stabbing and a series of public place shootings in Sutherland Shire and St George.
Sutherland detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Kiewarra after a 26-year-old man was stabbed on Glencoe Street, Sutherland, on February 28 this year.
The investigation was widened to cover public place shootings at Lucas Heights on March 29, Bexley on the same date and at a unit complex at Caringbah on April 1.
A police statement said, "As part of ongoing inquiries, a 29-year-old man was charged in April and remains before the courts.
"Following further inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a unit on Glencoe Street, Sutherland, about 8.15am today (Wednesday June 3).
"A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possess shortened firearm without authority, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and acquire firearm subject to a prohibition order.
"The man was refused bail and appeared at Sutherland Local Court today, where he was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court on July 30.
