A P-plate driver, aged 18, has been charged over a single-vehicle crash in Royal National Park in which a passenger died.
The two men were in a Nissan 200SX, which crashed into a tree about 1.45pm on Saturday April 25 on Lady Wakehurst Drive, Lilyvale.
The front seat passenger, aged 19, died at the scene.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation, which led to the driver, from Fairfield being issued a Court Attendance Notice for seven offences yesterday (Friday).
The charges include: Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death- speed more than 45 over limit, dangerous driving occasioning death - drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death), P1 driver exceed speed more than 45km/h, dangerous driving occasioning death - drive speed dangerous, not keep left of dividing line, and not comply P1/P2 high performance vehicle restriction.
The man is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on August 25.
He was also issued a licence suspension notice.
