Fine Kula's battle with brain cancer was covered in a Channel 9 video special last weekend during the NRL's Beanies for Brain Cancer round which highlighted the fight the former young Shark has on his hands.
After leaving New Zealand with his family to try for a better life, Fine worked hard on his way up to playing with the Cronulla Sharks, training with the first grade NRL side.
Led by close mate Sama Malolo, Fine's partner Anisha Zissis and with help from former Sharks NRL player Ava Seumanufagai, a team of friends ran 40kms in 4 hours at the Sylvania Athletic Track last Saturday.
Sama said It wasn't easy, but it's nothing compared to what lies ahead for Fine.
"His dreams have been put on hold but with prayers, hope and community help, we're raising funds to bring Fine back to us healthy and to ease his family's struggle."
Sama and his team are hoping everyone where possible can dig deep and donate to the cause, there have been several donations from the Sharks NRL squad, under '20s and from players from rival NRL clubs.
