Seven new coronavirus cases in NSW are all returned travellers, who are in hotel quarantine.
NSW Health said 11,833 tests were carried out in the latest reporting period, up until 8pm on Sunday.
The situation in Victoria has worsened with 75 new cases reported on Monday, following 49 on Sunday.
A 10-day testing blitz is continuing in Melbourne.
NSW Health is strongly discouraging travel to and from areas of Melbourne with COVID-19 outbreaks until community transmission has been contained.
"We urge anyone planning to visit Melbourne to keep up to date with travel advisories and anyone who returns from Melbourne hot spots, including NSW residents, should not attend aged care facilities, hospitals, or other settings with vulnerable people, and should avoid gatherings for 14 days," a spokesman said.
